What is the difference between
Sisterlocks™ & Microlocks?
Sisterlocks™ is a trademarked System of hair maintenance which should only be provided by specially trained personnel holding the credential of either Sisterlocks™ Trainee or Certified Sisterlocks™ Consultant.
In contrast,"MICRO" simply refers to the fact that these locks are smaller than traditional. Scheduling an in-person consultation is the best way to decide which option would be most ideal for you. ​
How is the Cost of Sisterlocks™Determined?
Depending on the length and density of the client's hair, their will be differences in price. For example, someone with long high density hair will have a greater out-of-pocket expense than someone with short low density hair. Sisterlocks™ are offered in package of 3 appointments (Consultation, Establishment, & 1st 4week Retightening), this is reflected in the cost of initial investment. ​
Can I get Sisterlocks™ with hair extensions?
No. The Sisterlocks™ trademark does not recognize any form of hair extension and this is discouraged. During the maturation of the loc, extensions tend to become matted, cause tension, or fall out. Most notably, hair extensions do not mimic the texture of natural hair, creating a stark contrast at various points throughout the shaft of the locs. ​
How soon after Establishment
can I color my hair?
Clients are asked to refrain from color treating their hair for at least one year. In some cases, a client may be asked to wait longer, if their locs have yet to mature. Coloring prematurely can cause excessive dryness, slippage and breakage.

Can I still loc my hair?
Yes. You may be able to be established despite having chemically treated ends. An in-person consultation will be needed to evaluate the overall condition of your hair, ensuring that there is sufficient natural hair length at the roots to get you started.
What is the ideal age to start my daughter's Sisterlocks™?​
Once a child's hairline is fully defined (no excessive baby hair on the forehead) it is safe to begin their loc journey.
I have concerns about low hair density,
Are Sisterlocks™ still an option for me?
Low density hair may not be a prohibiting factor when considering Sisterlocks™. In fact, over time a client may be able to achieve an appearance of fullness which would otherwise not have been possible. An in-person consultation is the best way to be sure. ​
I have been diagnosed with alopecia,
Can I still get Sisterlocks™?
Prospective clients who have been diagnosed with any form of Alopecia should consult a medical professional before proceeding with any establishment. Sisterlocks™ should not be thought of as a solution to permanent hair loss. On the contrary; the appearance of permanent hair loss may be exacerbated throughout the maturation process. ​
How much will my Establishment cost?​
Establishments for Sisterlocks™ are based upon length and density. An in-person consultation is required.
Can I book travel services?
Travel requests are subject to additional fees which include but are not limited to airfare and lodging. Travel bookings must be requested in writing via email to EmbraceLocs@gmail.com at least 90 days in advance of the requested date(s).
Travel services must be paid in full 14 days in advance of the travel date. ​
When can I start wearing loc sprinkles?
Loc Sprinkles are tiny beaded accessories which can be worn once locs are fully mature, this is usually after the first year. Beads are a choking hazard; this should be taken into consideration for clients with small children or pets who may come in contact with their hair. ​​​​
